The Truckee Tahoe Airport is a community airport that provides high quality aviation facilities and services to meet local needs, and strives for low impact on our neighbors while enhancing the benefit to the community-at-large.
To carry out the mission, the Board identified the following Business Plan working compontents:
Note that the mission, which the Board approved in February 2007, stresses a community facility that meets local needs and not those of a commerical airport like Reno that brings in airliners. Also explicitely stated in the mission is a requirement to have lower impact on our neighbors. Finally, the mission declares that we are an airport; there is no intention to change that fact. Our challenge is to balance airport operations with community impacts.
Much of the thinking about our mission flowed from the resutls of the professional, statistically valid survey Godbe Research conducted for us in late 2005, along with the work of the Airport Community Advisory Team and its meetings with many stakeholders, and of course, from input of pilots, aviation groups, and the general public.
